This division is for our 4 year old future soccer stars. It is to be STRICTLY instructional teaching the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, etc. It will be MANDATORY for any child registered in this division to have a parent with him or her on the field during the instruction. We feel this will be a great way for both the child and the parent to learn the fundamentals of the game while at the same time spending some time together enjoying the game of soccer.
U6 is an instructional division where players will be taught the fundamentals of soccer such as: dribbling, passing, shooting, etc. Generally half the time is spent on instruction and half is spent playing a soccer game.
In the U-7 Division players will play 4 ten minute quarters. There will be 3 players and a goalie on the field at the same time. Coaches will have a practice during the week where they will continue to teach the fundamentals of the game to the players. Saturdays will be game day. It should be noted that during the 5th week of the season there will be no longer a mid-week practice. From the fifth week to the end of the season the mid-week practices will become a mid-week game.
n this division there will be 5 players and a goalie on the field at the same time. There will be a practice during the week where the players will be instructed on the game of soccer. Practices will continue until the 5th week of the season. During the fifth week practices will be eliminated and a mid-week game will take its place. Games will be 4 ten minute quarters with a 1 minute break between the quarters and a 5 minute break at half.
This is the first division where the teams are no longer coed. There will be 6 players and a goalie on the field at the same time for the girls teams and 7 players and a goalie for the boys teams. Like our other divisions for the first five weeks there will be a mid-week practice and a game on Saturday. After the fifth week there will be a mid-week game instead of practice. Games continue to be 4 ten minute quarters.
There will be 9 players and a goalie on the field at the same time. The games become a little longer at this division. There will be four 12 minute quarters. In this division like in our other divisions there will be mid-week practices for the first five weeks. From the fifth week to the end of the season there will be a mid-week game instead of practice. We need to note that we are a guest of the College and they have asked us to park either in the parking lot or across the street in the church parking lot only.
In this division there will be 7 players on the field and a goalie. In this division there will be a mid-week practice for the entire season and Saturday being game day.
This division has expanded to allow some of our older players who want to continue to play recreational soccer, the opportunity to continue to play during their high school years. This division will no longer travel to play their games. We will play a schedule made up of teams within Abington Soccer. Your age can be 18 if you are still in HS and are not playing on a varsity soccer team
